I've went to see this production of Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House and it's beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. It really is a ballet for little girls! As for opera, I've got tickets for both productions, Don Giovanni and Tosca, but I have in the past watched shows live at Convent Garden and although not as good as being inside, it's still rather good, watching first grade productions at nil cost! Enjoy! In my not so humble opinion, the ROH's productions are much better than others, namely, of the English National Opera and always in the opera's original language. She seemed very down to earth, friendly, humble and sure of herself (no mean feat, as she 'fessed up being shy). She just took the stage very surely, right, we're here to sing and sing we will. Fan-bloody-tastic. Very strong presence, warm, sweet voice, without any childish candour at all, on the contrary, a very sophisticated voice, rich and mature. I'm lucky, I don't have to go far; it's get in at one stop, get off at the following, change, get in and get off again at the next stop, but this is the London Underground we're talking about, at its morning rush-hour peak !
